MyMA Marketing

February 2023

We hope you have all had a great summer and enjoyed some time off! The team had a well-deserved break and came back to the office in January ready to tackle the year ahead. There have been some new changes to MyMA over the last few months that we are excited to share with you…

Client Feature - Urenui Automotive

We have all just gotten back into the swing of work after taking a break to look after ourselves. Now is the perfect time to get a health check for your vehicle. How many Km’s did you do this summer, tripping all over on holiday to spend time with the family? Our wonderful clients at Urenui Automotive would love to see you and they offer a courtesy car if needed. The team can save you time on your future travels and make taking your vehicle to the mechanic a little bit easier.

Cyclone Gabrielle

The aftermath of Cyclone Gabrielle has been devastating for so many of us. If you have been affected in any way, please reach out and let us know, so we can put some processes in place to help relieve any stress with the end of the financial year coming up. If you have not had any implications yet, but are expecting delays with the deliveries of goods that will affect your business, let us know to see how we can help.

Xero Tip - Tracking Categories

Tracking categories, have you heard of them? Do you already use them?

Xero has an option for you to set up tracking categories that can help you to see

how different areas of your business are doing. You don’t have to have a business for you to use tracking categories either if you have a rental property or two, this can help you to see how each property is performing. Once you have set these up to suit your needs, your reports can help you make proactive decisions.

End of Financial Year

The end of the financial year is approaching all too fast! If you haven’t heard from us about your 2022 tax return don’t stress, we are working hard to get your tax return done on time! If you aren’t sure, you have sent us all the info we need to help us complete this, check out our EOFY Checklist at the end of our newsletter!

Tax Traders

Have you heard about tax pooling? This could be something to consider if you feel like you are struggling to keep up with your taxes or payments to IRD. Tax Traders are an IRD approved tax pooling agency. So, what is tax pooling? It is a legal and respected part of the New Zealand tax system. It allows you to use providers like Tax Traders to pay your taxes on your behalf. Utilizing Tax Traders’ services means that you won’t receive late penalties or interest on late payments with IRD, as they will make the payment on time for you. This means you can set up an instalment plan with Tax Traders to pay off your tax in amounts you can afford over a period agreed upon.

If this sounds like something you could be interested in, send us a message, or give us a call for some more information!

Minimum Wage

We are sure you have all seen the headlines about increasing the minimum wage. If you are an employer, make sure that you will be ready for this change from 1 April 2023. The increase of $1.50 can feel like a big jump for an employer with lots of staff on minimum wage. This could be a good time to look at your budgets before April and make any necessary adjustments.

If you have any queries about how this could affect your business, send us a message!

What we have been up to…

Over the last few months, there have been some changes in the office… If you have called into the office lately you will have noticed the updated layout that allows us to collaborate more easily. With the new year, we also have changed up our processes a little, as well as our forms. You should have received an email with some info we needed you to return to us, if you haven’t received this keep an eye out as it will still be on its way. If you have received this, please send it back to us if you haven’t already.

We also have some changes to our team; Shannon has moved on to a new position that will allow her to grow her accounting experience. We also have some new team members to introduce to you…

One you may have seen on our socials, but he hasn’t been introduced properly, Everest, our office mascot. The other new team member is the wonderful Barbara who is a tax whiz!

I am excited to share my knowledge and experience in taxation and business with our clients. It’s great to be part of a team that values one another and works tirelessly to meet client needs. I come with a simple, down-to-earth, common-sense approach to business.
