With the numbers of infected people in Taranaki still high, it is important to be aware of what to do if you believe you have contracted Covid 19. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should stay at home and get tested. If your RAT result is negative but your symptoms continue or worsen, you should take a further test 48 hours later. The health.govt.nz website has detailed information regarding RATs.
Free RATs are available if you develop COVID-19 symptoms or become a household contact of a case. If you have tested positive yourself, please follow the guides available.
Employers can apply for payment on behalf of their employees (if absent while waiting on a PCR test), who have certain rights regarding this. Please see the employment.govt.nz article about leave entitlements. Make sure you take plenty of time to rest and recover.

Mother’s Day is 8 May 2022. My Mobile Accountant is a team full of mothers, who know how much effort goes into looking after their family. We celebrate all mothers on their annual day of recognition, and say “well done!” What are you doing for your mother on the 8th?
The MyMA team are avid readers as well as movie watchers. The team would love to hear what you have been reading lately, any recommendations? Currently being enjoyed is….
Shannon has two or three in progress at the moment – A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness, Darkness Hunts by Keri Arthur, and a self help book that is not really helping.
Sarah is currently reading the backs of vitamin bottles while trying to recuperate from COVID-19 and How to Live More with Less by Dominique Lorean.
Shelley is on bedrest so is flying through her books right now. The current one will probably be finished by the time this newsletter gets sent out! – Iron Crowned by Richelle Mead.
Ajanta doesn’t have anything on the go at the moment.
Katryna is so consumed with reading all the receipts from going over client’s GST returns that she has forgotten what book she is currently reading.
Glen finished The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin while laid up, and is now on Slow Horses by Mick Herron.
Instalments – A lot of our clients are opting to set up an instalment plan with us, where we work out the approximate cost for the year and then they pay a monthly or weekly amount. This means when your tax returns are completed at the end of the year, you don’t have a big invoice to pay all at once, there may be a small amount to top up with and that’s all. If this is something you would like to set up then please contact Katryna on 027 555 0201 or katryna@myma.co.nz.
If you have any questions about your business, or just need a quick chat, please give the My Mobile Accountant team a call, we would love to hear from you!
