Hi all, hope the weird stormy weather hasn’t affected you too much. The waves alone during ex-cyclone Dovi were some of the biggest on record! If you were stuck inside keeping safe, were you binge watching anything? We would love to hear what has captured your attention lately.
Our team has a few favourites.
Sarah: Manifest
Katryna: Snowpiercer and Manifest
Ajanta: The Queen's Gambit movie
Shannon: CSI (from the beginning!)
Shelley: S.W.A.T. and Blindspot
Glen: Superstore and the Book of Boba Fett
Thankfully the weather has improved and the great Taranaki summer continues.
Did you catch any of the Winter Olympics? How cool is coming before Australia and Britain on the medal table!
Well done to Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and Nico Porteous on their medals, it was exciting to watch!
The government has announced that a new six-week payment will be available to Omicron-affected businesses from March. To be eligible, businesses must be able to show a 40 percent drop over seven days within the six weeks prior to the February 15 shift to the current second phase of the Government's Omicron plan. Changes were also being made to the Small Business Cashflow Loans Scheme to increase the amount of funding available to eligible businesses through the introduction of a 'top up' loan.
Do you have a customer facing business? If so, you can check your requirements for the Covid traffic light system on the business.govt.nz website. Remember we are all at the red light setting. If you need to make an appointment with My Mobile Accountant, please remember to scan in and wear a mask.
If you employ people or are self-employed, you can apply for COVID-19 support. This helps you pay wages for yourself and employees who can’t come to work and can’t work at home. There is no revenue test, and these payments are not a Wage Subsidy. Find out more COVID-19 support for employers - Work and Income. Remember the COVID-19 Financial Support Tool helps people understand what they might be entitled to. You can call us or 0800 40 80 40 to find out about COVID-19 payments for businesses. Further information for businesses can be found on the Business NZ website.
Due Dates- both provisional tax and GST (for the period ending 31 January) are due by 28 February, 2022. End-of-year income tax and Working for Families bills are due 7 April, 2022.
